Dr Tshikosi offers his patients pregnancy care of the highest standard, ensuring that your journey to parenthood is a safe and reassuring experience. The journey consists of a series of appointments that are designed to check the wellbeing of mother and baby as they go through the exciting journey to birth.
Dr Tshikosi’s holistic approach puts you and your partner at the centre of your care programme. You will be involved in all the big decisions regarding your pregnancy and delivery. There’s no strict regime; Dr Tshikosi varies your treatment according to you and your partner’s needs. His goal is to make your birthing experience a positive and uniquely memorable one.
Dr Tshikosi knows that the wonder of pregnancy often comes with worries and concerns. His caring approach ensures that you feel comfortable to voice your concerns while his professional expertise ensures that they are resolved in the best possible way.
Before you attempt to conceive, Dr Tshikosi will discuss any specific health requirements, for example, up to date pap smears, and folic acid supplements. He can also advise on the best time for intercourse in order to conceive.
Should your pregnancy be complicated, Dr Tshikosi will explain the need for any necessary tests such as blood tests and specialised ultrasounds. He will amend your treatment plan to see you more often and will discuss the best time and method of your baby’s delivery.
A twin pregnancy can be an extraordinary journey, and Dr Rendani will ensure that you have the right support and guidance. Should you need additional ultrasounds or more appointments, he will talk through everything with you. Since delivering twins can be more challenging, Dr Tshikosi will guide and reassure you with his expertise.
Between 6-24 weeks gestation, Dr Rendani will see you every 6 weeks. From 24-36 weeks, he will see you every 4 weeks. After 36 weeks, the frequency of consultations will be patient specific depending on risk assessment. Dr Tshikosi will share and discuss ultrasound findings and arrange your blood tests (booking blood tests, glucose tests and a full blood count in the 3rd trimester). If you are not having a scan, he will listen to the fetal heartbeat with a sonic aid every time you visit.
